ABOUT ROBOT MONSTER
Robot Monster began in 2007 as a venture between Jake Harrison and Travis Broyles, and only reaching fruition after many a night of beer and nacho fueled discussions of what a music label should be. More so, what it could be if we ran things in such a way that we put the needs of the bands before our own and at least break even – do it for the love of the genre. All we needed was a name that was memorable… and what better name than one of the single worst sc-fi / horror films ever!
Every great plan needs to have room for improvement, and over the course of the past two years Robot Monster has had to grow to fit the times. Ultimately, our goal is to not have bands owe the label from the beginning. Remove that strain and let the bands flourish under their own power, providing guidance, distribution, art and design, and in the end, enable the bands to own their process and retain ownership of their intellectual property without fear of being taken for a ride by their label.
Travis and Jake currently spend their days working at Sunken Ship Tattoos in Everett, WA. ( Check it out here ) and nights orchestrating diabolical schemes of robot oppression.
